Handling common childhood illnesses with Dr. Alan Wong

We are honoured to have Dr. Alan Wong to host a workshop aimed at sharing professional knowledge on common childhood illnesses and medical emergencies. During the first part of the workshop, Dr. Wong will explain to fellow parents on how to identify and handle fever, flu, chickenpox, hand-foot-mouth disease, Scarlett fever, head injuries and the Fifth disease.

He will also clarify some common myths amongst parents and suggest ways to protect and enhance our children’s immune system. The workshop will be followed by a first aid demonstration on what measures to take in the event of choking, bleeding, insect bites and stings, burns and how to properly use a first aid kit.

Dr. Alan Wong is a registered medical doctor in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and Hong Kong. He has practiced with the Hospital Authority in Hong Kong before joining Central Health and the Southside Family Health Centre.

Dr. Wong endorses health awareness through his commitment with charitable medical organizations. He is a dedicated volunteer for St. John’s Ambulance and also a Medical Officer of Hong Kong Air Cadet Corp.
